Be Positive at Home - Part One of Two  (Online and face-to-face)

You will learn what is takes to have that positive mindset. A career suited to you that is meaningful and purposeful. Working with professional Tutors and Mentors you will soon be on your way along a successful pathway. You will gather the confidence from start to finish with 9 online virtual sessions, and 4 individual 1:1 sessions over 4 weeks discussing finding work to applying to positions..

    Information

    Mindfulness, Purpose in life, Values and Strengths, CV creation (using Tracking software and Key words), Interview skills, Applications, Social media and job hunting.
    We deliver some courses on behalf of the Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Service (BESS), part of Central Bedfordshire Council, who provide us with funding. Courses are targeted to support residents in gaining skills relevant to the needs of employers in Bedfordshire or to meet health and well-being needs. Courses are free of charge, subject to eligibility criteria.     Once you have completed this course, you can progress onto Accelerated Careers and or employment. Access to careers and Guidance is offered during the course. You also may request a 1:1 careers session.
    Our courses are focussed on the practical delivery of skills designed to support modern job seeking, using smart phones and technology in job search and confidence building. Our employability solutions are online with 1:1 support by phone and virtual Classrooms. They are community courses which are not certified.

        Be Confident about Progression - Online Evening course

        If you are languishing in low paid part-time work and need the confidence to progress to a more sustainable employment you may benefit from this course. You may be concerned about the cost of living, and the limitations set by child care restrictions. You may wish to progress into better paid more suitable hours but are unsure how to approach this with your employer. If so, we can help.

          50+ Challenge

          It 50 years plus there is a perception that work is harder to find. Whilst those over 50 do find it more challenging and can feel demotivated you are still a valuable member of the working world. We have designed a specific course to support you to feel good again, gain confidence and use modern job search to get back to work.

          Be Positive about Maths

           This course makes numbers fun and will provide impressive skills and tricks using techniques without a calculator. The maths magic will include: How to do conversions such as litres to gallons and pounds to euros; How to work out quantities for recipes from cooking to mortar; How to work out bills to plan for fuel, food and petrol costs; How to adapt these techniques to help in other situations.

           

          This course is delivered by training provider Be Positive on behalf of Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy, part of Central Bedfordshire Council.

            How to enrol

            Eligibility

            You need to be living in Central Bedfordshire or Bedfordshire Borough, or Hertfordshire in receipt of a benefit (ESA, JSA, UC, Income Support) and over the age of 19. Formal qualifications are not required, but a reasonable level of literacy and numeracy is required for accredited courses.
