Smarter Job Search

We offer a Full package of employability Skills courses, which cover all aspects of finding work, finding motivation and direction. All courses are free if you live in Central Bedfordshire and are over the age of 19 receiving benefits. We cover Mindset to find work, interview skills, CV writing, using social media and job seeking.

Our courses are FREE and funded by the Central Bedfordshire Council with funding from the ESFA and ESF, offered through the NCFE Awarding body. NCFE is a national Awarding Organisation, passionate about designing, developing and certificating diverse, nationally recognised qualifications and awards.
Our courses are focussed on the practical delivery of skills designed to support modern job seeking, using smart phones and technology in job search and confidence building. Our employability solutions are offered in partnership with REED NCFE. We have a range of qualifications and resources designed to support education and training providers in preparing their learners for the world of work. These solutions include a range of both accredited and non-accredited learning programmes supported by online and paper-based resources, for individual learner use and classroom delivery.

Optimism and Mindfulness

We offer a 5 day course that covers all aspects of improving wellbeing and happiness .

This course is certified by Be Positive and is community funded though Hertfordshire Adult Learning (HAFLS) but not accredited.


We offer very basic IT, to find your feet and confidence with using basic applications and understanding the internet and websites

How to enrol

Step 1.


You need to be living in Central Bedfordshire or Bedfordshire Borough, or Hertfordshire in receipt of a benefit (ESA, JSA, UC, Income Support) and over the age of 19. Formal qualifications are not required, but a reasonable level of literacy and numeracy is required for accredited courses.

Initial Assessment

We will meet you before the course starts and discuss with you what you want to achieve, the commitment to the course hours and what you can expect from us.

When do the courses run?

Most courses run every month, so you will usually only have to wait a few weeks at the most unless we are fully booked. N.B Some areas do have a 2 month waiting time.
